Re: New member - Dino in Marshfield

Depends on the extent of the frame rot on whether it can be repaired. I've inspected and repaired a few tjs frames unfortunately I can't take on any more work at this time. I would suggest getting a price from your local welding shop depending on their work load (or lack of it) it may be less expens...

Re: Cj5 trans mount

Helicoil or tap won't work if the factory captured nut has spun. I've cut a square on the inside of the frame to weld in a new captured nut, then patched the square, flapper wheel, and its like I've never been there. In the rare case of a stripped or cross threaded nut that is still captured the nex...

Re: Is the "Jeep Wave" on life support?

I have lots of Jeeps, trucks, antique cars, and pedestrians wave, some enthusiastically, while driving my 3B.

Re: Hello From Colorado

I was in Moab last April (week after EJS), and I'll be back there again this April (also after EJS).
Are you anywhere near the San Juan Mts? I'll be in Ouray first full week in August.

Just curious, what is the difference between voting members and no-voting members beside the obvious?

I'm curious if you talked to them and presented pics, if so what was their response? he accused me of not breaking the R&P in properly. _ I did stopping several times for cool down on the drive home and it was fouled diff fluid due to off road use. there were a chit load of metal flakes that we...

Re: Mitchell Differential

Hey Posimoto, sorry, I wasn't trying to avoid answering your question. I haven't approached Mitchell with this latest issue as it has been a few years since they built the axle. I wouldn't expect any vendor to take care of a customer after this long (though some will go out of their way to do so). ...

I'm thinking your not addressing my post because nothing you posted has anything to do with my question, but I figured I'd ask because I wasn't sure.

Never came from the factory with air shocks, an upgrade by a PO.
Looks like a nice project.

If you do buy it make sure the present owner gives you the mic and manual for the CB/radio. I don't see a mounting clip on the dash for the mic, hopefully it's in the glove box.

Re: J-10

No doubt it's an amc 360 engine. Optional CB/radio very rare, of all the FSJ I've owned only 2 had the CB/radio. I sold one to a guy in Germany. Three special editions were offered 1976-83 Golden Eagle, Honcho, and 10-4. This isn't one although it has many factory options including AC. I would say t...

Re: J-10

The 7th letter is the engine code, C - 258, N - 360. The 79 model never came with a 401from the factory. If the truck has 57k original miles it's highly unlikely someone would swap out the engine. I guess it's possible someone could have swapped in a big block ford 390 but I doubt it. The roll-bar a...
